Anvil House, The Old Forge, also known as The Old Smithey is situated in the most delightful Cornish village of St Erth just outside bustling St Ives. Constructed in the 1600,s as a typically beautiful Kernow granite cottage, wet lay slate roofing, boasts 2 inglenook fireplaces with wood burning stoves one each in the dining room and the comfy snug. A large family bathroom with shower and bath, fully fitted kitchen, sun porch at the back leading to a sunny courtyard & alfresco dining area. Parking for 1 car at the property with plenty of safe street parking opposite. Anvil has been sympathetically and lovingly restored in recent years to an exceptionally high standard. This 3 double bedroom stylish and comfortable self catering accommodation (2 bedrooms with small ensuite shower rooms) situated just 1 mile from miles of golden sandy beaches of Hayle, 3 miles from beautiful Carbis Bay renowned for its Caribbean feel beach ,6 miles from the very popular town of St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, Helston & the City of Truro are all within a few miles, all served well by a local bus service with the train station situated in the village just 1 mile from Anvil .

Daron & Caroline would like to welcome you into our beautiful comfortable self catering three double bedroom Cornish cottage in the picturesque friendly village of St Erth .If you love stunning scenery, places of interest, beautiful beaches, walking these and the countryside you have come to the right place! My self & my husbands favourite pastime is walking and hiking around our beautiful Cornish countryside and along the coast and feel very blessed to have all this on our doorstep. St Erth has a very friendly post office with general stores as well as our lovely local public house the Star Inn famous for its fine ales and good food on our door step just 100 metres down the road in the village square. St Erth has many village events throughout the year ( although not during the recent Covid pandemic) very popular and well attended such as The St Erth Vintage Bike Ride, Harvest Auction, Christmas Dinner & Party for our elderly villagers, The Easter Duck Race around our beautiful River & the Grand Light up of the village Christmas Lights. All great events enjoyed by many.

Anvil House set in the picturesque village of St Erth offers attractive comfortable spacious accommodation well situated for sightseeing , water sports , coastal and countryside walking, beach days, plenty of public houses and restaurants for good food and drinks. There are plenty of fantastic places to visit such as the beautiful scenic Godrevy Lighthouse where you can also see large groups of seals at various times of the year, with, not arguably the best surf to be found in Cornwall. There is St Michael's Mount at Marazion, well worth a visit ,Views from Trencrom are spectacular as also Lands End, with the Isles of Scilly in the distance. Stunning Porthcurno beach, right next to the famous Minnack Theatre & the fabulous Falmouth Maritime Museum. Not to be missed is a trip on the St Ives line train ride passing beautiful Carbis Bay into the town of St Ives to take in the stunning coastal sea views. Country Skittles nearby is a brilliant family bowling/eating time to be enjoyed by all ages.Heartlands,Pool & Paradise park, Hayle nearby for rainy days.
