John works with the local shipping company “Streamline “ and Lynne works as a Macmillan Nurse. Our hobbies include deep sea fishing on our boat, DIY, travelling , gardening and socialising. We are native Shetlanders and are keen to ensure that you access everything that Shetland has to offer. There are many notable events throughout the year including UpHelly Aa, music festivals, knitting week and various regattas and country shows. The property is in Upper Baila which is a quiet residential area on the edge of Lerwick. It is under 1 mile from the town centre of Lerwick and a short walk from public transport to many areas of Shetland. It is close to shops, Clickamin sports centre and all the facilities in Lerwick. There are a variety of restaurants in Lerwick and the surrounding area. The nearest beach “Sands of Sound” is a 10 minute walk and the Clickamin brochure is nearby. There is a variety of wildlife to be seen in The immediate area including seals,otters, Shetland ponies and occasional pods of orcas. There are many notable historical sites in Shetland including St Ninian’s isle, Jarlshoff and Mousa Broch.
