Information about the host

The White Hart was chosen as a Film location - in 2009 - for a major British Romantic Comedy Film - Tamara Drewe ( starring Gemma Arterton, Luke Evans , Roger Allam etc.) The Pub was shut for 6 days whilst filming. The Pub was chosen for it's location and great Charm and Character. The Brewhouse Apartment was converted about 12 years ago to provide accommodation for our youngest Daughter - but has most recently been used as Holiday Accommodation. When last listed achieved a score of over 9.00 so we hope to maintain the Standard. We have owned the Pub since 1995 and Tenants ran the Pub from 2017 to November 2020 - when the pandemic adversely affected Trade. Jim & I have come back from "retirement" to take up the reins again and get the Pub back to it's former glory and will do whatever we can to make our guests stay as pleasant as possible. We have spent the last few weeks redecorating the Apartment as well as the Pub and in particular the outside area. So all should be in very good condition.

As we have said we are back form a brief period of "retirement" and look forward to getting things up and running so every guests has a great stay with us. We are here to help as much as we can and point out all the exciting things the area has to offer. It is a fantastic place to visit , for those that not only want relaxation, peace and tranquillity but also for those that are adventurous and want to explore farther afield.

We have a local train station which serves Bath, Bristol and Weymouth. The Jurassic Coast is only a relative short drive away - say 45 mins. West Bay ( where Broadchurch was filmed ) is again quite close. Dorchester has interesting Museums. Monkey World and The Tank Museum are again within a reasonable Drive. Poole is within about an hour and Poole Park is Great. Chesil Beach, and Weymouth are good places to visit. Yetminster has some nice walks and plenty of open spaces for those with dogs
