Around 4 miles from Shaftesbury, Applehay Studio provides self-catering accommodation in the Dorset village of Semley. Opposite the village green and close to the local pub, it offers free parking and Wi-Fi.
The studio features an open-plan living area with a double sofa-bed and TV, and a kitchen area with combination microwave oven, electric hob, fridge, kettle and toaster. There is a shower room and an upstairs bedroom with a double or twin beds, accessed via a spiral staircase.
Applehay Studio includes a small patio area, and a garden shared with the owner who lives in the adjoining cottage. The nearest grocery store can be found just a few yards away.
Shaftesbury’s famous Gold Hill is a 12-minute drive away, and Longleat Safari Park is around 30 minutes away. Yeovil and Salisbury can both be reached in around 40 minutes.
My husband and I, plus a local builder, converted what was his workshop into our now very successful little Studio. We used locally sourced recycled materials, paying lots of attention to detail. We specialized in a rustic country theme using old pine and Farrow and Ball paint. Over the past eight years we have been meticulous in keeping the Studio in tip top condition and have received lots of excellent reviews.
There are many places of interest in the area that you may wish to visit during your stay. Shaftesbury, with it's famous Gold Hill, Abbey ruins and stunning views is only 3 miles away. Old Wardour Castle is also 3 miles away and is well worth a visit for its history and walks. Stourhead, with its famous garden and house, is 13 miles away. Longleat Safari Park and house is also only 14 miles away. There are many other attractions and historic sights within a 1 hour drive from Semley, these being: Salisbury, with its Cathedral, Bath, with its Roman Baths, Stonehenge, Cheddar, with its caves, Studland, with its long golden beach, Weymouth, Corfe Castle, with the Blue Pool near by as well, Swanage Steam Railway, Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum. Or of course, you can just relax and enjoy Semley.
