Aubrey Cottage is a charming newly renovated Victorian townhouse, situated mid terrace with the added advantage of a little alleyway leading to the rear garden and entrance. The pretty terrace dates back to the mid 1800's and is located in one of the oldest parts of the picturesque market town of Cowbridge. The pastel painted victorian terraces are beautifully cared for and are just moments away from all that the town offers its residents and many visitors. Aubrey Cottage is decorated in a contemporary style and has been completedly refurbished to a high standard, offering all modern amenities and a high degree of comfort for our guests. Well behaved pets are very welcome but we ask that they are not left alone in the property. Cowbridge is a very dog friendly place.
We bought Aubrey Cottage back in November 2018 and have spent the last 20 months carrying out a complete renovation of this pretty, quaint, Victorian cottage. We wanted to create a warm welcoming atmosphere, incorporating a mix of contemporary and traditional styling with a plan to selling the property on but after working and living in the beautiful farmers market town of Cowbridge we have fallen in love with both the house and the area. Dave is a master builder and particularly enjoys the challenge of restoring period properties and as a professional gardener my love is creating and caring for outdoor spaces. We have lived and worked in the Vale of Glamorgan all our lives and feel blessed to have the best of all worlds on our doorstep - Cardiff, Wales' Capital, a beautiful vibrant city and endless countryside and stunning coastal areas to enjoy the peace and tranquility we love.
Step out of the door and you are moments away from the centre of the town where the river Thaw flows through the little park at the end of the lane. The highstreet is full of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs. There's a butchers, bakery, wine shop, delicatessen and several gift shops. Enjoy a lovely lunch, shop in the many high end boutiques or just wander through the alleyways and browse around the historic town. A Saturday farmers market sells fresh home produce from the many farms located in the Vale of Glamorgan. With easy access to the M4 motorway, just 10 minutes from the town, Cowbridge is a perfect location to access many of the highlight this part of Wales offers its many visitory. The A48 north of Cowbridge provides direct road access to the vibrant City of Cardiff just 7 miles away, home of Welsh rugby and full of lively art and music venues, either by car or the bus that runs half hourly through the town centre. The Gower peninsula, with some of the most stunning beaches in the UK is just over an hours drive. Travel up the M4 motorway direct to London in just over 3 hours.
