Situated at the top of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a delightful market town popular with sailors, walkers, artists and tourists. It has two tidal mill ponds which are host to a variety of wild life. It is full of history, with a long established reputation for oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandeliers. Emsworth boasts a handful of independant restaurants including the Michelin starred ' 36 on the Quay',only a short walk from Beacon Square. By foot you can easily get to the bottom of South Street where you will find a cafe over looking the harbour, 'The Bluebell' Pub, well known in the local area for their excellent fish and chips and 'Fat Olives' restaurant. The sailing club is a thriving centre for sailing enthusiasts and the pretty streets have a fascinating mixture of different architectural styles. A gentle walk around the village, which has superb harbour views, gives a genuine feel for the past. There are excellent road links to Portsmouth and Chichester (15 minute drive to both approximately) and there is also a mainline station to London. There is an interesting selection of independant shops in the town itself...
