This bungalow is set amid 165 acres of grounds looking out across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. On the edge of the Peak District National Park, a 10-minute drive from Leek, a market town. Half an hour from Buxton, Stoke-on-Trent and Alton Towers.

There’s much to do in the area around this gorgeous getaway spot in Rushton Spencer, including walks by Rudyard Lake (10 minutes’ drive) and across the rocky ridge of The Roaches (20 minutes). For an adrenaline rush, head to Alton Towers theme park (half an hour) or stay closer by and mosey around the Madrenaline Activity Centre (3 minutes’ walk) for archery, skybowing, axe throwing, Segway racing and – perhaps the highlight – rolling down a hill in a sphere. It is also half an hour’s drive from Buxton to the north and Stoke-on-Trent to the south. There are pubs and restaurants aplenty for eats within a six-mile radius, including in Leek (10 minutes).
