My holiday home is a VisitEngland Four **** character 2 bedroom former mill workers cottage on a level street in the Middle Town conservation area of Skipton. At the end of 2017 I had the cottage redecorated and equipped it with good quality furnishings and appliances to ensure that it is comfortable for your stay. Located 5 minutes walk from Skipton's historic High Street, Skipton Castle and the Leeds - Liverpool Canal. A perfect base to explore the Yorkshire Dales and the surrounding area.
I am retired following a 40 year career in finance and am now an active volunteer with the National Trust in a Kitchen Garden and as a Beekeeper. I now enjoy the freedom to travel as well as spend time staying at Belle Vue with family and friends to enjoy Skipton and the Yorkshire Dales.
Belle Vue is a 5 minute walk from the centre of Skipton with it’s famous High Street with four day a week market and atmospheric Christmas Markets in December. At the top of the High Street is Skipton Castle, a complete medieval fortress as well as a footpath to the ancient Skipton Castle Woods. The town benefits from a wide range of shops, restaurants and pubs including Early Doors, a Micro Pub, on Newmarket Street for those who enjoy Real Ale. In addition there is the Leeds Liverpool Canal for easy walking or just to sit and enjoy watching the boats passing by. The area offers plenty of attractions to suit all ages. Enjoy a visit to Bolton Abbey or Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway for lovers of steam trains. See the animals at Hesketh Farm Park; visit the Yorkshire Dales Ice Cream Farm or further afield the Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes. Fine dining is available at Le Bistro Des Amis in Skipton or Burlington at The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa at Bolton Abbey. For those that enjoy outdoor pursuits there are plenty of Cycle Routes or the testing mountain bike trails in the Forest of Bowland. Walkers may enjoy the surrounding countyrside using footpaths from Sk
