Black Burn Lodge B&B has a selection of attractive bed and breakfast accommodation in the Scottish Borders, around 25 miles north of Carlisle. Located just to the west of Northumberland National Park, the house was designed and built by the owner, and features a delightful garden, terrace and conservatory.
The spacious rooms at Black Burn Lodge B&B all have a TV, large wardrobes, hairdryers, fluffy robes and toiletries, as well as free WiFi. There is a family room with large en suite bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower and two more double rooms with a luxury en suite walk-in shower room.
Breakfast can be enjoyed in the ground-floor breakfast room, or out on the terrace in fine weather. For lunch in the area, the village of Newcastleton is home to a lively café and bakery with fresh bread and coffee, as well as a café /restaurant serving light meals.
The village is surrounded by hills and woodlands, and Black Burn Lodge’s owner Michael is a keen walker and mountaineer, who will be happy to share his local knowledge. Newcastleton also has a golf course, mountain biking trails and its waters offer scenic spots for salmon and trout fishing.
Black Burn Lodge is a newly constructed eco-friendly dwelling with 3 en-suite letting rooms and guest lounge with spectacular views of the Liddel Water and the rural landscape of the Scottish Borders. All rooms are provided with tea and coffee making facilities, TV , dressing gowns and Molton Brown toiletries. Comfortable beds with duvets and extra pillows. Breakfast is served in an open kitchen / dining room and all ingredients are locally sourced and freshly prepared to order. The house speciality is smoked Salmon & scrambled eggs with fresh chives from our herb garden. Alternatively you can choose from a Scottish breakfast menu including Haggis! We are located in the village of Newcastleton, a 5 minute walk to the local amenities of the village, shops pubs and eateries. The area is steeped in the history of the Borders dark past, with the family feuds of the Border Reivers at the forefront, Newcastleton is the seat of the Elliot clan with the Armstrong and Scott clans not far away. Kielder Water Forest Park is a short drive away and offers a wide variety of leisure activities ,cycling walking sailing fishing. Kielder Observatory offers fantastic views of the universe enjoying the darkest skies in Europe.
