A suberb location overlooking Hawk Green. Easy walking distance from Marple town centre with its wide variety of pubs and restaurants. Marple is situated in the South East corner of Greater Manchester. It is surrounded by miles of attractive countryside, ranging from heavily wooded valleys to hill-top moorland, rising from around 300ft above sea level at the lowest point on the River Goyt to just over 1000ft at Cobden Edge. On a clear day it is possible to view the four counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire from the top of these hills. The Peak District countryside surrounding Marple offers many pleasant walks and rambles, there being 66 mile of public footpaths in the Urban District alone. The flight of 16 locks at Marple is a spectacular sight, one of the steepest flights in Britiain. With the beautiful countryside around Marple Aqueduct a 20 minute walk up the towpath to the top of the flight, it makes a wonderful place for a family day out. Great public transport links and now, using the new bypass from Hazel Grove, Manchester Airport is only 15 minutes away. Marple has two train stations; journeys to Manchester city take approx 40 mins.
