Blakeney lies on the North Norfolk coast where the River Glaven meets the sea. Blakeney Point is a 4 mile long shingle-sand spit that is home to numerous migrating birds and a large seal colony. Sheltered by the Point and banked by salt marshes, ‘the Pit’ is the silted up estuary of the River Glaven where the current Blakeney Quay channel flows into. Prior to silting up, Blakeney used to be one of the busiest medieval ports in the country. Now it is a picturesque coastal village that offers numerous opportunities to view the local wildlife and stunning landscapes. Whether it’s walking, bird watching, sailing, a boat trip to the Point or simply enjoying local village shops, pubs and restaurants, Blakeney has something for everybody and is enjoyable all year round. The Coast Hopper bus service passes by the annex along the coastal road stopping at villages along the way.
