Blue Bridge Court is a newly refurbished building, situated on the corner of Fishergate and is just a 3 minute walk to the City Walls and 7 minutes to the beautiful Clifford's Tower. Our apartment has retained the original, large bay window giving you a great opportunity to sit in the bay and watch the world go by. Either City life or river activities - the apartment has views of both. The apartment is full of light and everything is brand new. It's kitted out so you can really feel like you're living there not just staying there! The heat of the city is a 7 minute stroll away and York Minster a 15 minute walk away. It's position is ideal for enjoying all the sights, shopping and gastronomic delights. If you are visiting York Races it is walkable but if you're in heels or have been celebrating hard, it's just a short taxi ride away! There is residents parking outside the apartment and for time spent inside there's a flat screen smart TV with access to online movies, DVD player, CD/radio and integrated iPOD dock with a USB charge point. There's a king-sized bed with luxurious bedding and room for extra guests on our double and single sofa beds. A laptop safe is available to use.

York is such a wonderful City and also the gateway to the many delights of the county of Yorkshire. You'll need to stay a while or visit a few times to get to see/experience the most it has to offer! Some favourites of mine are: for the history of York doing the whole walk around the City Walls, climbing Clifford's Tower, visiting the Yorvik Centre, The Richard III experience at Monk Bar, the Castle Museum and York Minster. For a bit of downtime try the Railway Museum, the York Dungeons or visit the Shambles and Stonegate. Shopping here is whatever your heart desires! And when you're a bit tired and in need of a pick up just you'll be just a stones throw away from a pub/restaurant or café! If you have time/want to venture further afield Castle Howard (of Brideshead Revisited fame) is a 30 minute drive. You can get to the coast in just over an hour and to Pickering, with its famous steam railway and the Yorkshire moors in 45 minutes. It's hard to say what is the best activity - it's just a great mix of something for everyone. You need to try it for yourself!

The area around the apartment is so interesting and diverse. The River Ouse is very close and there's a public slipway, so you could bring your kayaks/canoes. Also there's a great cycleway along the River Ouse and there's a secure bike store for you in the apartment courtyard to keep your bikes in during your stay. (Please lock them up though!) If you know your York history you will have heard about Dick Turpin - the infamous highwayman. Visit the Castle Museum to learn more about him - and maybe pop and see him - he's buried just a couple of minutes away from the apartment!! Warmgate and Fossgate are less than 10 minutes away and have such a fantastic and diverse selection of very well rated restaurants and bars. The only problem is choosing which ones to try...! If you want to eat in there's plenty of supermarkets and fresh markets around the area for provisions. Within just literally 4 minutes of the apartment are some fantastic independent pubs with real ales/ciders. It's just got a really great feel around the area. Yet, at night it's hard to believe you're in a City as it's peaceful and can hear the owls hooting! We're pretty sure you'll love it here as much as we do!
