We provide excellent service and comfortable accommodation with free Wifi. Treat yourselves to a little luxury by staying in our two roomed Garden Suite. In this suite you are able to enjoy both extra inside space as well as immediate access to outside space (weather permitting!). Breakfasts are made to a high standard using local produce wherever possible. We are situated 10-15 minutes walk from the shops and attractions of Dorchester and are less than 5 minutes walk from Dorset County Hospital and 7 minutes walk from the Dorset History Centre, formerly the Dorset County Records office. The nearest restaurant/pub is The Poet Laureate on Poundbury which is 5-10 minutes walk away. There are numerous other restaurants and pubs in the town centre. We are just a 30 minute drive (or bus ride) from the beautiful coastline where Broadchurch was filmed. Within 2 minutes walk from Bramlies is the bus stop for the X51 bus route which takes you to the Jurassic coast at Bridport and Lyme Regis and on to Axminster. Buses to Weymouth stop a further 2 minutes walk away. A great way to travel without hassle! Also within walking distance are Dorchester's 2 railway stations. Staying with us in Dorchester means you are ideally situated for exploring Hardy’s beautiful Dorset countryside and the dramatic World Heritage Coast. At Bramlies you will also find yourself right on the edge of HRH Prince Charles' development of Poundbury with its unusual architecture and individual shops. There is off road parking for cars as well as hardstanding suitable for motorcycles. We have a lovely decked area in the garden where you are welcome to relax with tea, coffee or a glass of wine. We are a non-smoking house, although smoking is permitted in the garden. Sorry, but we are unable to accommodate pets.
Dorchester is Dorset ’s county town and is ideally situated for exploring Dorset’s Heritage Coast and the beautiful countryside. Dorchester was the home town of Thomas Hardy and his homes ‘Max Gate’ and Hardy's Cottage are open to the public. Shopping is varied, with many individual shops both in the main shopping street and in the arcades and walkways. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. Within walking distance are a variety of good restaurants.
