You will feel instantly at home in our bright and comfortable home with edwardian features and modern interiors. The two large bedrooms of the Family Suite with bathroom are on the top floor which is only used by guests. Two further bedrooms are on the first floor, both very bright with garden view, sharing one bathroom. The ground floor is used by the owner. We are close to the Underground Station Tooting Bec on the Northern line - a fast line to get to the centre of London. If you wish to have breakfast here (best payable in cash) please let me know in advance. It will be served in the new dining area on the ground floor with glass extension overlooking the beautiful garden. We have some very friendly cats who can't get into your rooms unless you invite them.
I am a trained art and language teacher but have worked as an interior designer for the last 12 years. Me and my son (born 2000) are very sociable people and love to chat to our guests. I'm always happy to help with advise so please feel free to ask for anything you need. In my free time I like to go to nice restaurants and bars, the cinema, play tennis, occasionally skiing, windsurfing or horse riding and generally traveling. I am originally from South West Germany, close to the french boarder at Strasbourg but have lived here in London since 1998.
This Neighborhood, Furzedown, feels like a village, very safe and quiet. We are 5 minutes from Tooting Bec common (big park) with a small lake and ducks, a playground for children, 6 public tennis courts which are free to use in the daytime and Tooting Bec lido, the largest outdoor swimming pool in London. You will find 2 supermarkets, Budgens and Costcutter (5min walking), two cafes which serve breakfast and other small shops. Costcutter sells the Oyster Card for travelling in London by bus and Underground. Tooting High Street has a fantastic selection of indian restaurants. More varied bars, pubs and restaurants are located around Balham Station (short bus ride with 249), including the famous 'The Bedford' with comedy and free life music on 4 nights per week. Another street, Northcote Road, which you can reach with bus 319 (15min), is a typical english family street with pretty shops, many restaurants, also pubs and bars. There is a big Primark at Tooting Broadway station, easy to reach by bus G1.
