Bryn Mel, or Honey Hill Cottage, is a truly beautiful stone cottage with heaps of character – a true bolthole and hideaway. Tucked away down a beautiful lane but within easy walking distance of the village shop, and a couple of miles away from the seaside town of Beaumaris. Bryn Mel has to be seen to be believed – the cottage has been renovated sympathetically to keep the original character but with all the modern perks. Sash windows let so much light in and allow the gentle colours within warm the rooms.
Hush – sleep soundly as tomorrow is another day to explore the stunning countryside around. Leave your car to rest awhile and explore the beautiful surrounding countryside on foot. Just down the lane you will find the path to Castell Aberlleiniog – a motte and bailey fortress built between 1080 and 1099. An easy walk from castle to shore brings you out at Lleiniog Beach where you can picnic at the tables or wander along the shore for more spectacular sea and mountain views. Carry on along the headland and you will reach Penmon Point. A stunning walk along the Anglesey Coastal Path to Penmon Priory and Lighthouse, worth the miles. Sit on the pebbled beach and watch the sailing boats or take the plunge and enjoy a swim followed by a warming hot chocolate in the cafe. A photographers dream location whatever the weather. When you are ready – jump in your car and head off to Llanddona Beach, an easy drive along the lanes or divert to White Beach a secluded cove that doesn’t fail to please. Along the road lies Beaumaris – time to explore the most wonderful castle, shop for unique presents in the local shops or feast on local produce in one of the many restaurants or pubs. Llangoed...
