We have been coming to Sandown bay for many years and enjoyed all the memories the island has given us. We have been fortunate enough to have a chalet on our favourite site, ( the Sandown bay holiday centre), noted for it`s peacefulness. We have opened chalet driftwood up so that others can explore some of the hidden gems the isle of Wight has to offer. Sitting at some of the beachside bars for morning coffee or a evening drink is a must.
Sandown bay, (voted best beach in uk 2019) is the jewel in the crown of the island. Sandown bay holiday centre is ideally situated to explore the island. Shanklin village is simply beautiful and just 10 minutes away by car or 20 minutes by local bus from outside the centre. The chine is just a serreal place of beauty and truly breathtaking. Head to Ventnor and take in the scenery along the coast road or godshill for the old smithy. On your doorstep is the isle of Wight zoo and the very popular dinosaur island attractions, great to keep the adults and kids entertianed. Walking the cliff path up culver down for a well earned drink in the culver haven inn,and take in the views of sandown bay on one side and bembridge, ryde and portsmouth on the other. If your a cyclist, there are some amazing routes some quite challenging. A busier and livlier nightlife can be found in neighbouring ryde, again easily accessible by bus or inexpensive taxi ride. Also remember is the isle of Wight festival, the bestival, cowes week and many more carnivals and festivals throughout the year. There is so much to be seen and enjoyed, all on your doorstep.
