Information about the host

The front door welcomes you into the living room with beams and unique staircase your first impression. This is a peaceful place to lounge, read or watch the smart tv. The patio doors lead into the garden and patio area with charcoal barbeque. A bright, airy, fully equipped kitchen is to one side and the downstairs bedroom to the other. This bedroom has patio doors where the evening sun floods in, en-suite shower room and antique French king size bed. At the bottom of the stairs is the downstairs toilet and washing machine. The split staircase takes you to the southwest facing bedroom in the eaves with a single and a double bed. On the other side of the lovely beam is the family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The Master bedroom has a luxurious super king bed which can convert to 2 single beds if required. This has a large walk in, well lit wardrobe. The calming colours make this a tranquil room complemented by the birdsong and morning sun (hopefully). As you descend down the stairs you look onto the large lawn and patio softened with weeping willows and simple shrubs. The spacious garden has a dog proof fence and adjoining kennel with stable door in the back of the garage. The brook, just beyond the garden has a ford and a footbridge so is lovely for a 5 min evening stroll to play pooh sticks or let the dogs have a swim. We charge £10 per dog, per night which is payable when here. The split garage is not suitable to park cars in but is perfect for bikes, coats and wellies. This is fully lockable. There is ample parking and large vehicles would be easily accommodated. Horses can be accommodated too with prior arrangements. We have a fully equipped stable block for several horses and turn out available. The Yockleton Arms public house is our local pub 1/2 a mile drive away. They offer a discount to Stoney Moat guests. They do the best take away fish and chips most Friday evenings. We can offer homecooked meal deliveries with prior arrangements.

We are a farming family with two young children. We farm free range eggs so hope to provide complimentary eggs on arrival. As your hosts we are usually around to help with any problems or amenities that you may require during your stay.

This cosy home is easily located in the peaceful farming hamlet of Stoney Stretton, 8 miles west of Shrewsbury. Only 3 miles from Rowton Castle Wedding Venue and Country Club. With footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes on the doorstep it is a wonderful family retreat.
