Chestnut Bed and Breakfast is a 300-year-old, grade II listed building in the centre of the beautiful Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water. It has a sitting room with free Wi-Fi.
Breakfast is served in the large, south-facing breakfast room. Guests can choose from a full English or vegetarian breakfast, along with cereal and toast.
At Chestnut, the bedrooms all have an en suite shower room. They also have a TV, mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities.
There are many walks around the village with wildlife to observe. Gloucester is a 40-minute drive from the B&B and there is free parking at the property.
Chestnuts is a very unusual building. It has been many things in the past, but started life as a large and quite grand Georgian house. When you visit , go to the front of the building and stand back and look. You will see the original house hiding behind the shop fronts. Come in and you will see the older parts of the building with its sloping door frames and 18 inch thick stone walls. These walls give you the quiet and privacy from the many visitors who throng to Bourton on the Water in the summer months. Come in and you will find that although you really are right in the centre of the village, once you enter Chestnuts you are entering a little haven of peace and tranquillity.
Hello I am Jan and this is my husband Bob. These are the first words you will hear when you arrive at Chestnuts. I have been in the B&B business now for nearly 10 years, and Bob was "Bob the Builder" for nearly 40 years. We really enjoy doing what we do, and we derive most of our satisfaction from giving everybody a really relaxing holiday, if your here for 2 days or 2 weeks, we like to make sure that your stay with us is 100% enjoyable. Our aim is not to be a boutique type establishment , and you will not find the latest gadgetry in the rooms. But we do try and make everything as comfortable as we possibly can, and work hard to put it right if it is not. So come and see us Bob and I are waiting to welcome you all to our little haven.
Bourton on the Water is one of the most beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. People have visited here for generations. There is so much to do just in the village, without taking your car and dashing around the area. We have a Model village which is a complete stone replica of Bourton ,a Car Museum, Birdland where you can see their lovely King penguins, The Butterfly Maze, the Model Railway exhibition and we even have our own Perfumery. All these plus lots of different walks for all abilities. If you don't like the sound of any of those why not just borrow one of our portable chairs and sit by the river and watch the ducks or even the people go by. The village has something for everyone young or old, which is why people come back year after year to sample the friendly atmosphere of this wonderful place.
