Keswick is lovely market town with an abundance of pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops. The theme being walk hard, play hard. Most tend to head for the hills, follow up with tea and cake, head back for a catnap before meeting back up for a feed and of course a Lakeland ale!! The market is held every Thursday and Saturday and provides a wonderful variety of wares. Castlerigg stone circle is a lovely walk (only 1/1.5 miles away), the is so much to do down by the lake. The Theatre is worth a google before you plan your trip, the boat launch is a great trip around the lake, stopping off at many jettys, where you can hop on , walk to to next stop and jump on again. We love the forest walks down by the lake too. Catbells, Wallacrag, Skiddaw are all close by for the more adventurous. A bus stops outside every hour taking a circular route from Keswick to Grasmere and Ambleside, where you can visit Wordsworths grave, buy famous gingerbread and visit the many tea shops by the river.
