18th century Coach House in the garden of a Georgian house. The whole 1st floor has just been refurbished to a high standard and offers two very comfortable double bedrooms; a beautiful, large vaulted sitting room with dining area and TV; shower-room & well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave and all cooking essentials. Use of private garden with outdoor seating & rotary clothes dryer. Use of tennis courts on request (bring your own racket and balls). Own drive and parking for 2 cars.
The owners live and work in the main house, which is 150m from the Coach House. You will be greeted on arrival by Lizzy, or if you are very late will arrange access to the property via a key box. She is very happy to welcome you, help you with any questions and to provide information about the local area. We also have two friendly golden retrievers who roam around the garden and do like to 'meet and greet' visitors.
The property is set on the edge of a very pretty village, two miles north of Aylesbury with stunning views across the Vale of Aylesbury and the Chilterns. There are footpaths close to the house for lovely country walks and the Chilterns and the Ridgeway are a short drive away. Further afield, Milton Keynes is 25 minutes away, Bicester Village is a 30-minute drive and Oxford is 45 minutes. London can be reached from Leighton Buzzard station in 35 mins or in one hours from Aylesbury station. We are ideally placed for National Trust properties such as Waddesdon Manor, Claydon House and Stowe, as well as Bletchley Park, Roald Dahl Museum, Whipsnade Zoo and much more! A car is essential as public transport to the village is infrequent. An excellent, fast train service to London is available from Leighton Buzzard (20 mins drive and 35 mins into Euston) or from Aylesbury (10 mins drive and 60 mins into Marylebone). A drive into London via the A41 and M25 or via the M40 takes a little over an hour depending on traffic. The easiest way to visit Oxford is to drive to one on the city's Park & Ride services
