Two bedrooms means plenty of space, and two bathrooms means there is never a queue! The living room/kitchen is large and allows for a four person dining table. The flat is located in the vibrant Shore area of Edinburgh which has its own unique history as part of Leith. 500 year old Lamb's House is nearby as is the 450 year old King's Wark pub. The Shore itself has many pubs, cafes, bars and some of the best restaurants in Edinburgh - two Michelin Stars a 300 metres apart. There multiple buses that take you into the city centre. One every 6 minutes, and the bus stop is 100 metres from the front door. The flat location allows you to enjoy the history and fine dining of Leith and the best of Edinburgh without the rush of people or traffic that occurs in the centre. Enjoy Scotland's capital in a relaxed manner at The Shore.
Hello! My name is Matthew and I'm interested in a range of things from Literaure and politics to football, cooking and gigs. I want you to enjoy your stay at the flat as I believe it will contribute to your having a happy holiday so if there are any problems, don't hesitate to let me know!
If you are interested in history, food, culture, music, nature or all of that and more, then down at Leith's Shore is the best place in Edinburgh. Across from the flat is the ancient river, Water of Leith that Leithers have sailed from, ground grain on and built on for hundreds of years. It is now a very nice walk. The Shore has some of the oldest buildings in Scotland. Lamb's House is 500 years old, The King's Wark is 450 years old and the old Custom House is 200 years old. The Shore was the site of Mary De Guise's palace, and Leith, Scotland's oldest port, has a history of government and rebellion. It also has a cinema, skateboard park and shopping at Ocean Terminal, where Britannia is anchored. It has some of the best restaurants in Edinburgh, especially for sea food. It has the best cake shops, brunch and bottles of wine in the city, and it is well-served by buses. Live music is available most nights in one of the pubs along the bank of The Shore and there are regular festivals of music, Jazz, theatre and politics. There's peace and quiet and tranquility, and always something to do if you want to.
