We would love to welcome you to our peaceful campsite situated in the beautiful North Cotswold village of Whichford, near the Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire borders. We are in the Heart of England, in the middle of everywhere, just over an hour from the M25. Come and share this special place, experience the peace of the historic land and the sounds of nature. Enjoy stargazing the dark night sky, watching meteor showers without light pollution. Sit in our stone circle, said by dowsers to emit high amounts of electro-magnetic energy! Our ethos is to provide a peaceful, rustic, outdoor experience surrounded by nature and steeped in history. We therefore want to attract guests who appreciate these qualities and are happy to abide by our rules (see full conditions). We have multiple glamping options available here, the Yurt, Airstream or Gypsy Caravan (Bell Tents available in summer months). We also have pitches (bookable on our website - Cotswolds Camping). Our glamping options are all fitted with wood-burning stoves, electricity, kettle, toaster, double bed and bedding (at extra cost). We also have BBQ pits and picnic tables.
Cotswolds camping is situated in the grounds of Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre, the home of the owners, Sally and Andy Birtwell. Here they host weekend residential retreats, weekday classes and holistic therapies hence we are a quiet campsite. To find out more see our website - Holycombe . To arrange a therapy please use the contact details on our website and get in touch directly with the therapist (please do not book assuming there will be availability).
The campsite is on the ancient site of Whichford Castle - a Scheduled Ancient Monument, with a water-filled moat and is close to many beautiful Cotswold Villages - therefore is a great base to explore the areas. Perhaps the most wonderful amenity is Whichford Wood. In early May there is a sea of bluebells, in autumn there are chestnuts and hazelnuts and quite often, if you are quiet, you will see muntjak and deer. The award winning village pub, The Norman Knight, serves good meals and has a lovely view over the village green. They also have excellent live music nights. Whichford Pottery is also a wonderful place to visit, where there is a stunning garden full of inspiring pots, the Octagon gift shop and the marvellous Straw Cafe. The food is seasonal, locally sourced, hand made, hand baked and even home grown when possible. The Rollright Stones is an ancient site, attracting thousands of visitors each year, similar to a mini stone henge - 4 miles from the campsite. You can hire bicycles from a local company who will drop them off and pick them up from here - please arrange directly with TyCycles. We are in the Cotswolds meaning there is so much on offer.
