Dongola Bed & Breakfast is ideally located for visiting Monkey World and The Tank Museum and just a short 5 minute drive to the famous Lulworth Cove and the iconic Durdle Door arch. If you love your literature then visits to T E Laurence's home at Clouds Hill and the home of Thomas Hardy at Max Gate are 5 and 15 mins drive respectively. The room is spacious and offers a warm and inviting interior in which to relax. Its ground-floor, private access, and en suite wet room is ideal for those with reduced mobility. You are provided with tea and coffee and a welcoming biscuit, plus filtered water. Fresh milk can also be requested. A full English breakfast is included in the price, using as many local ingredients as possible. I can accommodate most tastes and allergies etc, just let me know at the time of booking. My aim to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. I look forward to welcoming you to Dorset at Dongola Bed & Breakfast.
After working in the Travel industry for over 25 years, I decided to take a slight sideways step and bring forward my plan to offer bed and breakfast in my home. I am really enjoying the experience of welcoming my guests and I am interested in why they are visiting. I have a vast amount of local knowledge and I am happy to help or suggest places to visit. I look forward to welcoming you to this very special part of the English south coast.
Although we are not located at Lulworth, the village of Wool is ideally placed for visiting the surrounding area. The village is on the main London/Waterloo line and has good bus and train links so are ideal for those visiting without their own transport. We are located within walking distance of 3 pubs and the village provides 2 small convenience stores, hairdressers, Chinese takeaway, Boots etc. The two main attractions are Monkey World & The Tank Museum, which are open all year. Lulworth Cove and the iconic rock arch, Durdle Door, are just a short drive away. Thomas Hardy also features in our area, with Woolbridge Manor taking central stage in one of his novels. His home, Max Gate, is located just outside Dorchester which is a 15-minute drive. T E Laurence's home at Clouds Hill and also his last resting place at Moreton is just a couple of miles away. The incredible and dramatic Jurrasic coast is also a real draw in our area and in my opinion the best and most challenging section of the coast path.
