Dozmary Pool is one of the sites that lay claim to be the home of the Lady of the Lake, where King Arthur rowed out to meet her and receive Excalibur, it is also thought to be where Sir Bedeveer returned Excalibur when King Arthur lay dying after the battle of Camlaan. Whatever the truth it is a stunning spot! King Arthurs influence stretches all the way to Tintagel where the castle could have been the legendary Camelot and the finding of 'Arthurs Stone' in 1998 has only fuelled these myths. - Merlin is thought to be still found walking under Tintagel Island.
