It was my family home for 11 years so hopefully its look and feel reflect this. It is a extremely large for Edinburgh standards and part of a traditional building which is very central. It is full of charm and retains many original features such as 5 fireplaces, high ceilings, wood floors, hearth in the kitchen, elaborate cornices, working shutters, door bell above main door and even a small bit of the original wall paintings/stencils that were once fashionable in the capital! I lived in Epicurean Clerk for 11 years and have made it a family home. We continue to explore this big huge beautiful world but have kept our wee piece of Edinburgh to go back to when we need our Scottish fix. Hopefully our love for Edinburgh and small piece of it is reflected in the look and feel of the flat. I am from North America, my husband from South America and our two kids are somewhere in between, plus Scotland. We love traveling and know what we appreciate and expect from accommodations. We aim to meet and surpass your expectations!

It has recently been refurbished and has a modern kitchen with many appliances, (there is NOT a tumble dryer but instead a traditional drying rack on a pully system). A modern bathroom. The bedding is very comfortable as well with new mattresses, great new pillows and comfy duvets. It is in the center of Edinburgh so all of the tourist attractions are a short walk and the country side is just minutes away. The flat is on a main road so catching a bus to anywhere in the city is straight forward. And because it is so central all of the urban conveniences are very close by. Within a few steps from the flat there are convenient marts and many restaurants to choose from; Turkish, Indian, Thai, Argentinian, Chinese, Italian, sandwich bars, Cafe, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, many pubs and bars, a vintage record shop, a vintage clothing shop (Armstrongs), Queens Hall concert venue, pharmacy, banks (meaning 2 ATMs very close), plus much more. The neighborhood is beautiful, surrounded by the meadows and Holyrood park and is very laid back in nature. All of Edinburgh is at your feet with Holyrood Park, the Commonwealth Pool and the Meadows just a short walk away and the Royal Mile and Edinburgh
