Hello and welcome to The Devonian. ​Our home was built as a Gentleman's Victorian Residence in 1883 and is situated in its own acre of woodland and gardens, in an elevated position within the Torrs Park Conservation Area of Ilfracombe. ​The Devonian offers you peace & tranquillity with commanding views looking down over the town and into the valley. The West Wilder Brook flows through the bottom of our gardens and is an ideal position for watching & listening out for resident Owls, Birds, Squirrels, Badgers and Foxes. ​ We are also very fortunate to be only a stones throw away from the stunning South West Coastal Pathway which travels through the surrounding National Trust land and is a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. However, if it’s not one of the many coastal walks you seek, then beautiful beaches, the historic harbour and the unique and breathtaking Tunnels are a short stroll or drive away from The Devonian. The heart of the town is perfect for all your local shopping, eating and relaxation needs. ​

Hi, we are Piper & Terence, and are the very proud owners of The Devonian Guest House & Wilder Brook Self Catering Apartment. Our love of the outdoor lifestyle, drew us to this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the protected National Trust Area. We fell head over hills for what was known as The Woodlands, and decided to remodel it after ourselves, and start the journey of brining this wonderful 1883 house back to life, well... our version of it!
