Finkle Green is a detached stone built bunglalow set in three quarters acre of garden on the edge of Wortley village and the Wharncliffe estate. In 2018 the hosts completely renovated and extended the building ensuring that they kept the character of the building whilst introducing new ecological and sustainable heating and cooking facilities. The house is heated with a ground source heating system along with photovoltaic panels to channel the heat of the sun to assist with the electricity supply. They created 4 ensuite bedrooms to a high standard of decoration and comfort, along with a beautiful breakfast room for their guests . Guests can enjoy tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, linen and towels, slippers, free wifi and free parking on site. The uninterrupted views from the bedrooms and breakfast room are stunning throughout the year and each season brings a new window on the landscape, whether that is the snowdrops and new lambs in the spring to the snow capped pennine hills in the winter. All this within 6 mins drive of the M1.
Rowena and Brian have a long career in the hospitality trade and having spent their lives travelling around the country staying in faceless hotels, they decided to create a home for home for their guests but with all the facilities expected from the modern traveler accompanied by comfort and tranquility. They have an extensive knowledge of the local area, can provide walking and cycling routes and advise on local places to eat, drink, walk, cycle, play golf and anything else you can think of!! Their goal is to give guests a friendly, comfortable and calm experience, in their beautiful home in the pennine lowlands, breakfast is sourced from local suppliers and served in the breakfast room with views across the garden.
