Uniquely situated on the lake shore of Llyn Tegid (Lake Bala) offering a place of peace and tranquility. A combination of the location, the facilities and the respectful and prayerful nature of the hosts make this a retreat without being a retreat. Offering the opportunity to be both on a lake shore and within wooded grounds with the expected variety birds and other wildlife (and sheep). Here you are away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday traffic and yet only 1.5 miles from Bala town and its facilities. At any time guests have access to a heated summer house that again is on the lake shore and offers views, a chance to be 'outside' even in the British weather. It is also a great place for social gatherings and many groups have made use of it to play games, music and enjoy a relaxing drink. Although we don’t normally accept children as part of our attempt to keep the peace and tranquility of our location, families are welcome to book all suites (but still subject to a maximum of two per suite).

We are an extremely friendly family who want to make our guests feel like old friends. We will offer whatever help we possibly can to enable our guests to make the most of their stay here in this beautiful part of Wales. Ann has experience of owning and running a 16 room hotel (Shrewsbury Lodge, Oxton) as well as Bar Notaria in Almoradi, Spain. Robert is enthusiastic about food and the great outdoors and loves to combine the two. Emily our daughter is a willing helper, happy to engage with our guests and is learning Welsh. She has a love of horses and of drawing them and other animals (wolves and dragons).
