Hello, I am Leonard and I look after the bookings for Glen Fyne Cottage. It is my job to make sure you have all the information you need to have a stress free visit to this beautiful part of Scotland. I have lived in the area for many years. Contact me with any questions.
Let us be clear, you are deep in the glen and surrounded by the mountains, no surprise then that you are out of reach of mobile phones, television – and wi-fi. This is the complete digital detox break. Perfect for some, a nightmare for others. Enjoy a holiday watching DVD’s, reading, playing board games, walking, eating & socialising. Leave feeling refreshed and reinvigorated. As you turn off the main road at the head of Loch Fyne and drive the 2.5 miles along a private road, you know that you are heading somewhere pretty special. Most likely the only ‘traffic’ you will come across are the highland cows as they wander freely along the road. As you head further along the glen towards the mountains, you will know this is a special place. The cottage is simply finished, but most importantly, it is warm and comfortable. It is perfect to come home after a day out to fire up the wood burning stove and enjoy a meal at the table, complete with mountain views. Up to 2 dogs are welcome - a pet charge applies. Check with us first.
Glen Fyne has a remote feel about it at the same time as being easy to reach at just over an hour from Glasgow - but a world apart. The cottage is part of a small hamlet of houses. Head out the glen for a choice of pubs & restaurants, visitor attractions, wonderful walking trails - and iconic places to explore such as Loch Lomond, Glencoe and Oban. Be sure to visit the Woodland Gardens nearby on the Ardkinglas Estate, Inveraray for the historic Jail and Castle, and you pass the doors of Fyne Ales on the way to the cottage - check out their Tap Room.
