Set in the heart of Banchory, in historic Royal Deeside, this 4 bedroomed detached cottage is an ideal base for exploring the delights of Aberdeenshire, for families or groups. Luxuriously appointed, this home from home has it all - comfy beds, power showers, cosy fireside lounge, family dining kitchen, sun trap gardens with BBQ... This much loved family home has been a family home for the current owners since 1999 and has all the comforts in a peaceful location within a short distance of the bustling high street. There are four generously sized bedrooms over ground and first floor, an ensuite, loo and family bathroom with separate lounge and spacious dining kitchen. There are three double beds and two twin beds, two bedrooms upstairs have sloping ceilings and velux windows and are very cosy and comfortable.
We love to go castle hunting, Crathes and Drum Castle are very close by and Craigevar castle is not far away. All are gorgeous to look at and easy to access, Crathes is open all year round.
Often called 'The Gateway to Deeside', Banchory is approximately half hour's drive west of the city of Aberdeen and a favourite of many Aberdonians who fancy getting away from the buzz of the city for a few hours. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops mean it has the quiet calm of a country village with enough facilities to keep everyone content. Down by the large and well-maintained park, Banchory has a mini-amusement park - perfect for keeping small children happy for a while. Banchory acts as a suntrap in the summer and the park is thronged with sun worshippers. Banchory's history dates back to around the 5th century when St Ternan sought refuge among pagan Picts before converted them to Christianity. The churchyard marks the spot where he established a small monastery. Banchory is a superb base for a varied holiday with Crathes Castle and garden, and Castle Fraser within easy reach and both are well worth a visit. Also boasting two golf courses in the town, there is a wider choice in the surrounding area with excellent hillwalking and skiing available in the Cairngorms just a short distance away.
