Hi I'm Maggie and I bought this wee flat in August last year. I am just starting out on my hosting experience and am excited to have a new challenge. I live and work in Edinburgh but love coming down to Hawick as much as I can. I have 2 daughters who are both at university so I now have a little more time to myself! I hope my guests will enjoy the peace and tranquility that Hawick Haven offers especially if escaping the city for a few days.
Hawick Haven is situated at the end of the High Street near Drumlanrig Bridge. The Heart of Hawick is just across the road, where you can have a pizza and coffee overlooking the River Teviot. There is also a small cinema and it's a really nice place to just relax. Borders Textile Towerhouse is also just over the road which tells the story of Hawick's knitting industry and is well worth a visit. Teviotdale Leisure Centre is about a 10 min walk and Sainsburys (with an Argos) about 15mins. In the other direction (at the other end of the High St) there is a Wetherspoon pub, The Bourtree and a Morrisons. The High St has a few lovely independent cafes and several good charity shops. Wilton Lodge Park/Hawick Museum is about a 20min walk or 5 mins in a car. The area is steeped in history and the statue that can be seen from the livingroom window is that of the Callant Statue.
