Heatherbank was on this site as early as 1881, but it was a relatively small house. A large wing was added by 1887 and another smaller wing added in 1901. It was the only house in the area and Camberley was just a hamlet. The village was originally called Cambridge but the name was changed to Camberley because people confused it with Cambridge in Cambridgeshire. The house was used in both wars to house wounded soldiers. At some point in the mid 20th century the house was sadly split into two houses, long before we took up residence.
We are both extremely fond of animals and have an eclectic collection of small animals, birds, reptiles and fish. We have three cats and two small dogs, all of whom are friendly. All are available for guests to interact with if they wish. My husband, who emigrated from New Zealand 33 years ago, runs an indoor plant care business and is the 'resident' gardener in our one acre plot. From Spring through to Autumn the garden is splendid and guests are most welcome to use and enjoy it. My husband plays tuba in two local brass bands and has visited several European countries to take part in concerts and contests. My main interest is our collection of animals and walking the dogs is a daily pleasure. We enjoy meeting people and learning a little about their lives. We now have friends all around the world.

Trains also run to Guildford and Woking. Guildford has good shops! The Duke and Duchess of Wessex live just outside Camberley at Bagshot Hall. Legoland is 12 miles away, Windsor and Windsor Castle is 13 miles away. Ascot racecourse is 7 miles away, a 10 minute train journey. Heathrow airport is a 30 minute car drive, Gatwick airport is a 60 minute car drive. These times depend on the traffic.
