High Force is located in the charming village of St John’s Chapel in Weardale, on the south side of the River Wear. The largest village in the upper dale, this spot is especially popular with cyclists and walkers. A great location for those doing the alternative C2C route or trying their hand at challenges by Roof of England Cycling, there is plenty for you to discover on two wheels. If you’d prefer to explore by foot, there are so many walks on offer. You can enjoy quiet river walks, the long distance Weardale Way or hikes to the higher ground overlooking the valley.
