Higham Place Lodge is set in an elevated position with views over the surrounding parkland and countryside. Heading out of the park you can explore the area further to discover the scenery that was captured by a number of world famout artists who lived and worked locally. Constable imortalised a number of scenes around Dedham and Flatford Mill, whilst Munning's, famous for his painting of British rural life and horses lived not far away. His house is now a museum with over 150 of his works on display along with the studio where he painted. Gainsborough was born in Sudbury, one of the five wool towns where his house is also a museum, which details his life from the time where he was painting in Suffolk to the period when he lived in London and Bath.
