My name is Kevin Skingsley and I have been a host with another company for over two and a half years. Holiday Hideaway is my second holiday let in Buxton and was launched in April 2018. I am a keen traveller and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. I like to visit the local pubs and restaurants of Buxton which has been my home for over 10 years. I am passionate about music, particularly Jazz, Reggae and folk. I love sculpture and paintings. I run a gardening business and I am a property investor.
Buxton is a tourist town and there is a wealth of activities to enjoy in the local area. The beautiful Peak District National Park is on your doorstep. This appeals to walkers, climbers, cavers and cyclists. It has easy and popular routes including the Tissington Trail and Goyt Valley. It is close to the stately homes of Chatsworth House (the set for Pride and Prejudice), Keddleston Hall, Lyme Park and Haddon Hall. For centuries holiday makers have visited Buxton to take in the waters and in the last 30 years it has become an Arts hub with the Opera House, Pavilion Arts Centre, Green Man Gallery and Museum. Buxton plays host to a vibrant arts scene with the third largest Fringe Festival in the UK, Opera, Literature Festivals and a range of local art galleries. Most of the local pubs and bars have live music.
