Hello, I am Leonard and I look after Howebank Holiday Home on behalf of the owner. I live have lived in Lochgoilhead for 26 years. I am available to you during your stay to answer any questions and to help you make the most out of your time in Scotland. Make the most of my local knowledge.
A traditional four bedroom detached villa in the centre of the Lochgoilhead. Looks out on to the Arboretum from where you have access to a playground for the youngsters as well as a choice of marked walking trails. Enclosed large garden which is private and full of mature trees, plants and shrubs. For those cooler days there is a summer house, chiminea and fire pit. A pleasant place to relax while taking in the mountain views. The ground floor lounge seats up to 8 guests, has a square bay window, an open fire with old Dutch tiles and a stone hearth, a piano and an extensive library. Across the hall is a modern well equipped kitchen which is open plan to the dining room, complete with a multi fuel stove. Wonderful social space for enjoying family dining. Also on the ground floor you will find a spacious shower room plus a utility area with access to the back garden. On the upper level there are four good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom. There is a Good Housekeeping Card Authorisation of one hundred pounds prior to arrival. Pets - Max. 2 dogs. Thirty pound pet charge applies. Lochgoilhead sits at the head of the fjord type Loch Goil within the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Considered to be one of the most scenic areas in beautiful Argyll. You approach the village via single track roads through Hells Glen or Glen Mhor. Easy to reach being just over one hour from Glasgow via the shores of Loch Lomond. The village has a Post Office/Shop and a Costcutter market. The Goil Inn is open for drinks and meals and, and has entertainment most weekends. Hire boats available. This is a superb walking area and is rich in wildlife. You can fish off the jetty, hire bikes locally, and use the leisure centre which has a 25m indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and gym on a pay as you go basis.
