It is also a very popular destination for divers, with some excellent spots just a few miles off the coast. The village has some useful local shops and restaurants and there are more extensive facilities in the nearby village of East Wittering. Just further along from East Wittering is the famous sandy beach of West Wittering, regarded as one of the best beaches in the south of England. The cathedral city of Chichester lies just a few miles to the north and it offers a good range of shops, the beautiful cathedral and the internationally renowned Festival Theatre. Goodwood is also within driving distance and has the famous race course as well as motor sports events.
