Knipoch House Hotel dates back hundreds of years, and retains original oak-panelled walls and open fires. Surrounded by glorious countryside, it is the site where the Thane of Cawdor was assassinated in 1592.

Each room is elegant in style, and boasts picturesque views of either the surrounding countryside or Loch Feochan. Features include a flat-screen TV, DVD player, and en suite bathroom with free toiletries.

The panelling in the dining room was recovered from the ruins of Ypres Cathedral, and guests at Knipoch House can take in the historic atmosphere while enjoying a delicious meal from the daily changing menu.

Oban’s beautiful Ganavan Sands are around 15 minutes’ drive from the building. There are plenty of cycling and walking routes around the hotel, and guests can also go diving or visit the many castles that the nearby area is famous for.

Nestling beside Loch Feochan in Argyll, Scotland, lays Knipoch Hotel (pronounced neepoch, -och as in loch). This four star country house hotel is privately owned and run by the Craig family. We opened Knipoch as a hotel in 1981.

Knipoch is ideally placed for exploring Argyll and the Western Isles. We are situated 6 miles (15 minutes drive) south of Oban. The scenery is beautiful, with a panorama of mountains, lochs and islands unfolding around almost every corner.
