Surrounded by wooded countryside, Knoll Country House offers individually designed rooms with TVs, iPod docks and modem points. All rooms have modern en suite facilities, some with power showers or luxury corner baths.

A deli menu is available everyday from 18:00 until 21:00, using local produce and suppliers. The property also offers full restaurant and catering services for large house parties and gatherings.

Just a short stroll from the shores of Lake Windermere, Knoll House Hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from Lakeside Pier. The popular villages of Ambleside, Windermere and Hawkshead are within 20 minutes’ drive.

Information about the host

It's a lovely late Victorian property that used to belong to the original bobbin Mill manager when it was originally built. We have endeavoured keep the original features of this lovely house whilst constantly keeping it looking good.

I started running the Knoll back in 2001 after working for myself in the South West although I am actually a Black Country lass. I am,passionate about the Lakes and all it has to offer. I love my business and my wonderful team here.

We're a peaceful retreat in glorious woodland and just a stones throw from Windermere Lake in Lakeside. You can get steamers from the pier at Lakeside and visit the aquarium. We've many tourist attractions on within a twenty minute drive away and some stunning walks from our doorstep for the more energetic!!
