Knotts Mill is a spacious Guest House set in peaceful, private grounds close to the shores of Ullswater which is described by many as the most beautiful and dramatic of the Lakes. There are stunning views of the surrounding fells from the lodge. Knotts Mill has plenty of easy parking and secure storage for bikes etc.
You can explore the beautiful countryside by foot on high and low paths that criss-cross the fells in this unspoilt area. There are easy lakeside walks to more challenging peaks of Hellvelyn and Blencathra. The spectacular Ullswater Way is a 20 mile walking route around Ullswater. The route can be walked in either direction and from any starting point, and can also be walked in sections. Or perhaps take a relaxing trip on the lake with Ullswater Steamers. Nearby is the beautiful Aira Force and the pretty villages of Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. We are within easy reach of Keswick, Ambleside via Kirkstone Pass and the rest of the Lakes National Park. Other activities include fishing, pony trekking, water sports and an indoor climbing wall. There are also many visitor attractions such as the Rheged Discovery Centre, the World of Beatrix Potter, Wordsworth's House and other historic houses and gardens. Further afield are the wonderful Eden Valley, Hadrians Wall and the Solway Firth.
