Lancaster University Guest Rooms provides bed and breakfast accommodation set on the University campus, situated a 10-minute drive from the city centre
Each guest room has an en suite bathroom, desk, wardrobe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, towels and linen. There are tea and coffee facilities in the room and free Wi-Fi available across the campus. There are no televisions in the Guest Rooms. If you choose the B&B option, breakfast is provided each morning at Marketplace, a 2-minute walk from the accommodation
The campus includes a great selection of restaurants, cafes and bars. The sports centre includes a gym, climbing wall, swimming pool, sauna and squash courts at an additional cost. The Peter Scott Art Gallery and the Nuffield Theatre are also located on the campus.
The Lancaster University campus lies to the west of the M6 and the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The city itself offers attractions including Lancaster Castle, St Peter’s Cathedral, Lancaster City Museum, Williamson Park, The Grand Theatre and a Vue Cinema. There is also a varied selection of restaurants and bars in the city centre.
There are great transport links to the city centre from the university including regular buses and a taxi rank on campus.
Morecambe is within 20-minute drive away, which has views across the bay. Guests can visit the beach, the Eric Morecambe Statue and Happy Mount Park.
The accommodation is a 10-minute drive from Lancaster train station, which offers easy access to Manchester, Liverpool and London, as well as The Lake District.
Our campus has a variety of bars and food outlets all within a short walking distance of the Guest Rooms. The Woodland Trail is a great way to explore the campus. It is 2.6 miles trail with several points to hop on or off... but it's also great for a nice relaxed stroll to stretch your legs. Our Guests also have access to the Sports Centre on campus, you can either join as a member or use the Pay As Your Play service.
Our Guest Rooms are situated on the Lancaster University campus. The campus itself is set in 560 acres of beautiful parkland and lies approximately three miles south of the City of Lancaster. It is easily accessible via road, rail, and bicycle. We are situated only 5 minutes away from the M6 motorway and there is a direct bus route from Lancaster Train Station to the University. The Guest Rooms are a mixture of single, twin, and double bedrooms. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom and include towels, linen, a hairdryer, Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee-making facilities. They are located in the North of Campus and are a short walk away from the Marketplace for breakfast. During the summer period, we also have student accommodation bedrooms available which are all single bedrooms with a private wet room style bathroom. These bedrooms can be located in either the North or South West campus. There are no TVs in any of the Guest Rooms or student accommodation bedrooms but there is free visitor Wi-Fi. Car parking is chargeable Monday to Friday from 08:00 am til 18:00 pm. It is free of a weekend. Tickets can be purchased from the pay and display machines in all the car park areas.
When staying at Lancaster University Guest Rooms, you will be less than three miles from the city of Lancaster. It has fabulous shops, cafes, bars, a cinema and places to eat. We have the Assembly Rooms located in the city centre, which boast an eclectic mix of stalls selling vintage, period, and retro clothing, comic books, art, and memorabilia. Known as one of England’s heritage cities, there are five museums where you can explore the history of Lancaster, whilst there is also a castle and Georgian architecture to marvel at. Williamson Park is regarded as one of the city’s best kept secrets and contains a stunning ornate butterfly house open all year round. If you fancy traveling a little further, the Lake District could be just what you are after. As England’s largest National Park there are a plethora of things to do, from water sports to walking. On campus, we have a theatre, a selection of cafes and bars, and an art gallery, which is worth taking a visit!
