Welcome to our beautiful family home. We are very lucky to live in a large Edwardian period property that was built in 1927 and extended in 1987. The original property features many period details including stained glass windows, high ceilings, solid oak flooring and staircase. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with an eclectic mix of period furniture and modern bathrooms. We have off street parking for 5 cars at the rear of the house and are located just 100m from the pretty riverside footpath leading into the city. 2016 and was an excellent year for us. The property was upgraded to 4**** Silver rating by the national tourist board, Visit England. In addition we secured a coveted ROSE Award: Recognition Of Service Excellence. Being 1 of only 100 properties nationwide and the only Guest House, B&B or Hotel in the county of Wiltshire to attain this. We consistently achieve the Visit England Breakfast Award and Trip Advisor Certificate Of Excellence 2014, 2015 and 2016 for our high standards of accommodation, customer service and delicious breakfasts. Mr Gary Heikki Street & his partner Edith are your hosts and his family have been welcoming guests to Salisbury since 1980. Gary Heikki has been a part of the family Guest House experience since he was just 6 years old! Leena's Guest House was started by his now retired parents Leena & Malcolm, hence where the business name originates. Gary & Edith are very passionate and proud proprietors and do everything themselves to maintain the highest standards and to ensure their guests have a relaxed and comfortable stay When freetime permits, Gary & Edith love the great outdoors. Enjoying country walks, cycling, surfing, skiing, travelling and practising foreign language skills. Gary peut parler Français OK and Er kann ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen ! Salisbury is a beautiful Medieval Cathedral city full of charming 13th and 14th century buildings that house many traditional pubs, restaurants, independent shops and even the local 5 screen cinema. Just 15km away from the Stonehenge World Heritage Landscape, the city is located on the convergence of 5 chalk stream rivers teaming with Brown Trout, offering a glimpse of Otter, King Fisher or Water Vole on the walks in to the centre. It is possible to walk from Old Sarum Castle, an Iron Age Hill Fort, via riverside footpaths into the city centre and Salisbury Cathedral (1220 AD), the onwards through picturesque water meadows towards West Harnham in only 50 minutes. Leena's Guest House is conveniently located just 12 minutes riverside walk to the Market Square and 3 minutes from a flagship Waitrose Supermarket. Salisbury Coach Station is just 8 minutes walk along the river Avon. The Railway Station is 20 minutes walk to the south west. We have 2 neighbouring parks with playground facilities just minutes away. In addition we are on a network of footpaths and cycleways which can lead you deep into the beautiful Wiltshire Countryside to Old Sarum, Stonehenge and beyond.
