Our Studio is unique, it is the sort of place we love to stay in when we go away for a relaxing break. It is self contained, you can let yourselves in and out and enjoy the private space of the studio and garden throughout your stay. There is a day bed that can be converted in to a sofa or bed for 1. This type of bed provides good walking space in the Studio and ample space for a small table and chairs to allow you to sit with a cuppa or breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a small kitchenette area with a sink, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster and a lovely en-suite shower-room. There is also a TV with a built in dvd player and a selection of dvd's/guide books for you to use. We are home when you are here but like to leave you to it, unless you need us or just want to say hi. We are well placed in Nairn for beach and river walks, cafes and restaurants and the local supermarket, bus station and train station. We are in a lovely quiet part of town just off the main A96 Inverness to Aberdeen route. You can arrive at any time after 3pm (or earlier by special arrangement) and should you be arriving really late you are not to worry, you can just use the key safe.
Hi, we are Karen & Dave Alexander. We love to travel, experience new things and meet new people so setting up a holiday studio was a way of us providing the kind of place we like to stay in when we go away. Somewhere you can relax (we have 3 self employed businesses!) and somewhere you can base ourselves to explore wider areas. The idea of the key safe entry is to allow you privacy and the facility to arrive/leave at a time that suits you without a formal check in and check out process. It is of course lovely to meet you and chat about what brings you to the area...and where you are from. We're also keen on gardening so our garden provides a peaceful, calming oasis (we feel) to chill and sit with a glass of wine or a cuppa on a lovely day.
Our Studio is in a lovely old traditional part of town. The main house was built in 1902 and we knew the second we saw it that we wanted to live here. We bought it in 2012 and have been slowly restoring it since then. The Studio used to look totally different! We are well placed for beach and river walks or a short stroll to the high street where you will find a few lovely shops, restaurants and cafes. We particularly like 112 on the Brae for morning coffee, lunch, dinner or simply going out for a bottle of wine. There is the lovely Nairn Museum in Viewfield (only 5 minutes away) and the fabulous Community Centre where lots of great events take place throughout the year. A walk to the Harbour and lunch or dinner at the fabulous Sundancer restaurant is also recommended or very close to home, a few minutes walk, The Classroom always has a warm welcome and great food on offer.
