Log Ness is a newly built Finnish log house overlooking Loch Ness in the popular village of Foyers. The house is stylishly furnished with the wow factor definitely being the panoramic views over the Loch and the mountains opposite. Upstairs there is a cosy mezzanine for spending the evenings taking in the stunning views from an elevated position and outside there is decking which is partially covered providing shelter on both sides of the house. The house is surrounding by is own land stretching to approximately an acre so it offers a high degree of privacy whilst still being conveniently located for all the local amenities. Occasionally deer will walk through the grounds and red squirrel can be spotted in the neighbouring woods. Log Ness has contemporary polished concrete floors downstairs with underfloor heating and a large modern log burner with a 'clever air' system to make it easy to manage (these two aspects, however, do mean that the property is less suitable for younger children). The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly want to self cater with a large fridge freezer and 5-burner range but if you prefer to eat out there are eateries nearby.
We (Sian and Phil) moved to the Highlands of Scotland in 2014 from Brittany, France although originally we are from Wales and England. We searched for land on which to build a log house and found our plot in Foyers which has become Log Ness. We feel we have created a very special property to do justice to the beautiful surroundings and hope our guests leave having enjoyed what we have created and, perhaps, wishing to return again and again.
Foyers is on what is known as the 'South Side' of Loch Ness and is much quieter than the other side of the Loch. Foyers and Log Ness are for the discerning traveller wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life in order to relax in tranquil surroundings with access to good walking and water activities on Loch Ness. Within a 15 minute walk the famous Falls of Foyers can be found and a short distance further the village shop, post office and Waterfall Cafe. Even nearer the Craigdarroch Inn which serves food all day can be reached in just 5 minutes by foot. A short distance from the village you will find the highly rated Camerons Tea Room, perfect for stopping off for refreshments during one of your countryside walks. During high season the nearby caravan site offers activities such as archery, motor boat hire and canoe hire. Further afield is Fort Augusts with its impressive lock system on the Caledonian canal. Fort Augustus is 14 miles away and Inverness with its attractions and facilities is just 18 miles. Within reach also is the Isle of Skye and also the beautiful beaches on the Moray coast and Fort William and Ben Nevis are just over an hour's drive.
