Longmead House Longmead House Longmead House Longmead House Longmead House Longmead House Longmead House

This charming Victorian house has picturesque gardens and plenty of free parking on site on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Surrounded by green fields and beautiful countryside, it is just 15 minutes’ walk from the sandy beaches of the Bristol Channel.

Rooms at Longmead House are cosy and traditionally furnished, some boasting original features like old wooden beams and panelling. Each benefits from a flat-screen TV, an en suite bathroom with free toiletries, and tea and coffee making facilities.

In the dining room, guests can enjoy a choice of options for breakfast, including full English, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and a variety of egg dishes. Fruit juices, fresh fruit, and yoghurt are also served.

Longmead House is ideally placed for access to the Valley of Rocks, the South West Coast Path and Lynmouth via the Cliff Railway. There are fabulous walks around Lynton and Lynmouth, Watersmeet and Exmoor direct from the front door, and Lynton’s cafes, pubs, shops and restaurants are just a few minutes’ walk away.

Information about the host

Longmead House is a beautiful Victorian property, built by the same skilled hands of Bob Jones, who built Lynton Town Hall and the historic Hollerday House. The skill is noticeable in our very charming, wood paneled lounge which to this day houses the original fireplace from Hollerday House. Aside from the relaxing guest space indoors, our large garden also encourages relaxation as you watch the sun set over the Valley of the Rocks.

We take pride in serving the best breakfasts we can so that our guests are set up for their day in Exmoor in the best possible way. We enjoy the variety of walking routes available. The Valley of Rocks offers a unique landscape right at our doorstep.

We are located at the entrance to the Valley of the Rocks which provides a unique landscape and walking experience. Enjoy a sunset gazing over the Bristol Channel in the company of the valley's goats. The two minutes that the Cliff Railway takes to transport you down to Lynmouth is insufficient to appreciate the excellence of it's Victorian engineering. Further afield, the rest of the Exmoor National Park is a truly interesting and ever changing landscape with a fascinating and varied list of activities and attractions available.
