Llandysilio is a small village in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales, it is close to many walks and historic towns and villages. Situated between the English market town of Oswestry and the welsh town of Welshpool, it is the ideal location for exploring the beautiful countryside of the welsh boarder lands. Our home Maes Offa is located next to the A483, which means it has great links for daytrips out to the many beautiful locations nearby. We are close to Offa's Dyke a large earthwork defence on the border between England and Wales, built by Offa, the Anglo-Saxon king of Mercia from AD 757 until 796, who is traditionally believed to have ordered its construction to defend his lands from the Welsh. Access to the famous Offa's dyke path is less than a small stroll way from us. Beautiful locations such as Lake Vyrnwy, Powys Castle, Llangollen, Chirk Castle are just a drive away! Why not take the Offa’s dyke path along the Montgomery Canal to Llanymynech to visit the historic lime works site! Alternatively, bring your canoe and travel by water along the canal taking in the beautiful welsh countryside. You could even visit Llanymynech Rocks or the historic lime kilns in the village!
