Maisie's is an annex apartment in the beautiful County Down countryside. We are close to the Mourne Mountains, Montalto Estate,Newcastle, many beaches, Castlewellan and Tullymore forest parks, Downpatrick (home of St Patrick) and Castleward (where Game of Thrones was filmed). It's very well equipped with flatscreen tv, DVD player, a range of dvds, hair drier, iron, ironing board, travel cot, high chair, lots of kitchen equipment and all very new and modern.
I am married to Brendan. We love living out in the country as there is so much space, gorgeous views and lovely places to walk and be outside.
There are many lovely places around here to visit...depending on your interests. If you are into walking and hiking there are many gorgeous places to see. The Mourne Mountains and the coast are very close by and there are many beautiful hikes through the mountains . At the Bloody Bridge near Newcastle there is a dramatic coastal walk to the south. The Silent Valley Resevoir has gorgeous walks on more groomed trails. The Forest parks of Tullymore (alot of scenes in Winterfell from Game of Thrones were shot there, 12 miles) also Castlewellan (7 miles) has a castle and lake to walk around, including walled gardens and a large maze. We are fortunate to have many beaches close at hand, including Murlough near Newcastle, Tyrella and Dundrum (a lovely walk near Murlough House to a ‘secret beach’). You may even spot some seals here. Newcastle is an attractive seaside town 12 miles to the south at the base of the Mourne Mountains. It has a lovely refurbished promenade to walk with lots of coffee shops, restaurants and activities for young and old.
