This Medieval romantic retreat is brimming with character. The beautiful building is grade 2 listed and offers incredibly spacious accommodation and impressive grounds for large gatherings of friends and families we also welcome special functions and wedding parties. Only 12 minutes drive from the UNESCO city of Bath and close to many Somerset attractions including Longleat and the pretty market town of Bradford on Avon. This house has an incredibly spacious kitchen and dining area, with a large table that seats 12 guests and a fully equipped kitchen with all the modern appliances and plenty of storage. The dining area opens out onto a magnificent old 'cart way', the historic entrance for the horse and carriages. This room leads down approximately 10 steep steps to the utility room, with a sink, washing machine, drier and additional fridge. Upstairs there are a further 6 bedrooms sleeping 12 people and 3 bathrooms.
The property is ideally situated only a 12- 15 minutes drive to the UNESCO city of Bath and close to lots of interesting places of interest including Stonehenge, Longleat Safari park and the pretty market town of Bradford on Avon. Norton-St. Philip is a historic village with a colourful and dramatic history. Only moments from the house is the site of the Pitchfork Rebellion in 1685. There are walks from the village to ancient burial mounds from the Neolithic period and the buildings in the middle of the village tell the stories of times gone by. In particular the pub next door to the property 'The George,' has been the resting place of queens and kings dating back to the 15th Century. The 'Malt House' is ideal for walking your dog and there is a play park for children ideally located the other side of the pub garden, so you can enjoy a pint while keeping an eye on the kids. There is a handy Co-op grocery store only a few minutes walk from the house and an additional pub, The Fleur De Lys only across the road.
