Monument Cottage is a charming, mid-terrace, Edwardian holiday cottage in the Cotswold village of Churchill, just 3 miles from Chipping Norton and Daylesford Organic Farm. The cottage sleeps 4 guests across 2 double bedrooms, with a family bathroom and has recently been refurbished in a beautiful, contemporary style that compliments the original Edwardian features. A fabulous kitchen-dining room, with a wood burner, opens to a sunny courtyard, while to the front is an elegant living room overlooking a pretty cottage garden. The cottage accepts one dog and has on-street parking and is a minute’s walk to The Chequers, popular pub and restaurant. Inside, the cottage has been stylishly refurbished and decorated with a cosy living room and a separate, open-plan kitchen-dining room on the ground floor, and two double bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor.
Churchill is a quintessentially Cotswold village with a church, the excellent Chequers pub, a village heritage centre and great walking in every direction, including the Darcy Dalton Way - a 65-mile, long distance walking trail. Churchill is in the enviable position of being located in a triangle between the three hugely popular Cotswold towns of Chipping Norton, Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold, providing a huge array of things to do and places to visit in each location. The Chequers, a highly acclaimed pub and restaurant, is just 50 metres from the front door. Churchill is surrounded by great walking country, including the Darcy Dalton Way - a 65-mile-long trail named after Colonel d'Arcy Dalton a founding member of the Oxford Fieldpaths Society that can be joined at Hastings Hill. It runs from Wormleighton in Oxfordshire to the Ridgeway near the Wiltshire border, crossing the Thames Path and passing through the Cotswolds on its way. Amongst many places of interest, you can walk on public footpaths directly from the cottage to Daylesford and to Kingham.
