Our apartment at Merchants Quay is located on Newcastle's famous Quayside area only minutes walk from a fantastic variety of leisure and entertainment venues which includes great pubs and restaurants and the world renowned Baltic Arts Centre and Sage music venue. Just step outside the front door and you've got immediate access to everything this part of the city has to offer. You can also be in the heart of the city centre in under 5 minutes walk where you'll find all the venues and landmarks the city is famous for. And you'll quickly discover just how friendly and welcoming Newcastle is. Required standards of behaviour - this is a lovely apartment in a quiet residential building. It is essential that the privacy and amenity of residents is respected and observed. In this regard, we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour of any kind. Of course, we want you to fully enjoy your stay here - and in this apartment you will have the perfect base for that - but please be aware that any undue noise or disturbance will result in your stay being terminated.

Neighbourhood information

Newcastle is packed with things to do and places to visit and it's all so close to where you're staying. The Quayside is a great place to be and If you happen to be around on a Sunday check out the Quayside Market which has been around for decades. It's got an atmosphere all of its' own. There's great restaurants everywhere but check out Unos Italian restaurant which is right beside the Tyne Bridge. For a superb gastropub in a proper traditional ale-house setting try The Broad Chare which you'll find about half way between the Tyne and Millennium bridges. Nigella herself said the place was "extraordinarily good" when referring to the Mince and Dumplings she had whilst up here for an appearance at the Sage. You can't really get past that for a recommendation. You can walk to the very centre of the city in under 10 minutes but if you want to travel further afield there is a Metro stop 5 minutes walk away from the apartment where you can travel throughout Tyne and Wear including Newcastle Airport (25 mins). If you like walking there's great walks both up and down the River Tyne which will take you out into beautiful countryside or the other way to spectacular coastal spots.
